Add feedback only when it communicates a clear event, and use telemetry only when it answers a defined driving question.
Write down the information the driver is missing: wheel slip, ABS, engine speed, gear, fuel, relative position, road texture or chassis movement. Then choose the least complicated device that can communicate that cue reliably.
A seat-mounted transducer can communicate engine or rear-axle effects, while a pedal-deck transducer can emphasize front-axle or ABS cues. Physical isolation and careful level matching are necessary so the entire room does not vibrate at the same frequency.
Pedal motors or active pedals are most useful when tied to a distinct event such as ABS or traction intervention. Continuous vibration can hide the moment the driver is supposed to notice.
The platform, cockpit, seat, wiring and room need clearance for the full movement range. Use the manufacturer emergency-stop and restraint guidance, secure loose objects and verify that cables cannot be pulled or trapped.
Show only the information the driver can use during a lap. Gear, flags, delta, fuel and relative position are common examples. Large, stable elements usually work better than a dense dashboard that requires reading.
Record a baseline, then compare laps with similar conditions. Inspect the channels related to one question—such as brake release or steering trace—and change one input or setup variable at a time.
Keep separate profiles by simulator or car when effects differ. Back up dashboards, haptic settings and hardware profiles before updates, and record which software or firmware version produced a known-good result.
